The Antenna
An EU-funded initiative providing AI-optimised high-performance computing, technical support and training to accelerate AI adoption across Ireland's economy and public services.
What it is
Ireland's gateway to European AI infrastructure
The AI Factory Antenna (AIF IRL-Antenna) is Ireland's national programme connecting the Irish AI ecosystem to the European AI Factories infrastructure under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking. It provides AI-optimised high-performance computing and the surrounding expertise needed to turn ideas into deployable AI.
Its purpose is to scale and accelerate AI innovation by lowering the barriers to adoption - supporting national strategies on Advanced Computing, HPC, AI, Data Spaces and Quantum Computing, and helping accelerate digital and green transformations across sectors such as energy, agriculture, climate, healthcare, smart cities and manufacturing.

Who it serves
Built for Ireland's innovators
The Antenna is open to organisations of every size that want to put AI to work - with support tailored to where they are on the journey.
- Startups - accelerate from idea to product with access to serious compute.
- SMEs - adopt and scale AI without building infrastructure from scratch.
- Public sector - develop trustworthy AI for services and policy.
- Researchers - push the frontier with AI-optimised HPC and expert support.
The wider network
Part of the European AI Factories network
AI Factories and their Antennas are being established across Europe under the EuroHPC JU. As an Antenna, Ireland connects directly to leading AI Factories - sharing infrastructure, talent and data spaces, and co-developing policy.
AI Factory France (AI2F)
A partnership providing access to large-scale infrastructure, including the Alice Recoque exascale supercomputer, with cooperation on infrastructure sharing, talent development, data spaces and policy co-development.
Luxembourg AI Factory
A link emphasising domain-specific AI - climate, environment, energy, space, smart mobility and digital health - with access to the Meluxina-AI supercomputer.
National infrastructure
Towards a EuroHPC supercomputer in Ireland
A Hosting Agreement signed between ICHEC and the EuroHPC JU marks a major step toward procuring a world-class EuroHPC supercomputer in Ireland. The Antenna complements CASPIr, the next national HPC infrastructure announced by the EuroHPC JU and DFHERIS.
